Dark Pearl of the Himalayas

Product Code:
5012-1

Embrace the luxurious warmth of the “Dark Pearl of the Himalayas” throw, a masterpiece of Bhutanese craftsmanship. This exquisite throw features a deep, dark base reminiscent of the night sky over the Himalayas, adorned with subtle horizontal stripes that add texture and elegance. The fringed edges provide a rustic yet refined finish, inviting touch and comfort. Handwoven with skill and care, this throw is not just a functional item but a piece of art that tells a story of tradition and beauty. Whether draped over a chair or wrapped around your shoulders, it offers a touch of Himalayan mystique to any space.

The Nomadic Stripe Throw is crafted from locally grown cotton and nettles, woven on a traditional backstrap loom to preserve the beautiful texture of our handspun natural yarns. The alternating use of nettle and cotton yarns creates bold stripes reminiscent of the highlanders of Bhutan. Four pieces of fabric are hand-stitched together to form a large blanket. The black colour is achieved using an ancient dyeing recipe with raspberry leaves and black mud. This rare and challenging natural dyeing process results in slight variations in colour for each piece, making each throw unique.
